Checco Zalone’s Buen Camino Opens to €26.9 Million, Sets Christmas Record in Italy

Cinetel reports the film lifted the weekend box office by 257% versus the prior frame.

Overview

  • Across its first four days, the comedy reached €26,921,300 with about 3.32 million tickets sold and a 71.4% market share, according to Cinetel.
  • The holiday surge also marked an 87.17% increase compared with the same weekend in 2024.
  • Buen Camino led Christmas Day with €5.672 million and outpaced Avatar: Fuoco e cenere, which collected €5.4 million over the weekend.
  • The opening is being gauged against Zalone’s Quo Vado? and Tolo Tolo, which launched on New Year’s Day, historically Italy’s strongest box-office day, with Tolo Tolo benefitting from an extra opening-day tally.
  • The title is already climbing Italy’s all-time box-office rankings and is produced by Indiana Production with Medusa and Mzl in collaboration with Netflix.
