Chase Revives 100,000-Point Ink Business Preferred Bonus as Sapphire Preferred Offers 75,000 Points

A January policy change lets eligible applicants pursue both Sapphire bonuses under existing Chase rules.

Overview

  • Chase reintroduced a 100,000-point offer on the Ink Business Preferred after $8,000 in spend within three months, with a $95 annual fee.
  • The Chase Sapphire Preferred currently offers 75,000 points after $5,000 in spend in three months, also with a $95 annual fee.
  • Chase’s January update allows one welcome bonus per Sapphire card, so earning both the Preferred and Reserve bonuses is now permitted if other criteria are met.
  • Sapphire Preferred eligibility typically excludes those who have already received its bonus and still depends on staying under Chase’s 5/24 guideline and on credit approval.
  • For Ink Business Preferred, terms indicate the bonus may be limited to one per lifetime, and while approvals generally have not added to a customer’s 5/24 count, applicants with five or more recent cards have often been denied.
