Chase Adds Free Year of Apple TV to Sapphire Preferred and Reworks Rewards

The change shifts value toward the $95 card by adding a one-year Apple TV perk, adjusting points and travel credits, changing Hyatt transfer math.

Overview

  • Chase now offers Sapphire Preferred cardholders a complimentary one-year Apple TV subscription or an alternate $7.50-per-month credit for active Apple One users when they link their Apple Account and activate the benefit through Chase.
  • The Apple benefit is available to new and existing Sapphire Preferred holders and must be activated in the Chase benefits portal by December 31, 2026 to receive the free year or monthly credit.
  • Chase simultaneously added new earning and travel perks to the Preferred, including 3× points on gas, EV charging, and Airbnb/Vrbo bookings, a doubled $100 annual hotel statement credit, a $120 Global Entry/TSA PreCheck/NEXUS credit every four years, and emergency evacuation coverage.
  • The bank removed the card's 10% anniversary bonus and changed Ultimate Rewards transfers to World of Hyatt to a 4:3 rate, moves that reduce some existing point value for loyalty-focused users.
  • The package narrows the benefits gap with the $795 Sapphire Reserve by bundling streaming value (Apple TV normally $12.99/month) and targeted credits into the $95 Preferred, a shift that will change how cardholders calculate net value and may affect signup and upgrade decisions.
