Charge Upgraded to Murder in Willesden Court Collision That Killed Ruben Nunes

A first appearance is scheduled for January 19 at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court.

  • Shakaine Dwyer, 29, of Willesden, is now charged with murder after initially being accused of causing death by dangerous driving.
  • Ruben Nunes, 34, from Peterborough, died at the scene after a car hit pedestrians outside Willesden Magistrates’ Court on December 3.
  • Police said the incident occurred on Chapel Close at about 12:44 p.m., and London Ambulance Service crews were unable to save Mr Nunes.
  • A second man, Gregory Ejiofor, 31, is charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and is due at Southwark Crown Court on January 6.
  • Detectives are appealing for witnesses as well as dashcam or mobile phone footage from before and after the collision.
