Channel 5 Orders ‘Boris Johnson: Into the Kill Zone’ Ukraine Frontline Documentary

The commission uses Johnson’s covert 72-hour visit to press for quicker Western support to Ukraine.

Overview

  • Channel 5 disclosed Monday it had commissioned a feature film following Boris Johnson into Ukraine’s frontline, with the working title ‘Boris Johnson: Into the Kill Zone’.
  • Johnson undertook an unofficial, unprotected 72-hour trip beyond Kyiv to the Zaporizhzhia “kill zone,” embedding with soldiers in the Orikhiv area and sheltering during a missile strike.
  • He is shown visiting secret drone bases and a makeshift bomb workshop, joining mobile gun teams and Kyiv volunteer air defenders, and observing the part-time 112th Territorial Defence Brigade at night.
  • Johnson uses the footage to argue that Western governments are delaying help, calling current support ‘timid’ and saying Ukraine can win if pledges are met faster.
  • The film is produced by Soho Studios and Two Rivers with access brokered by Daily Mail correspondent Richard Pendlebury, Sphere Abacus holds international rights, and no air date has been announced.
