Chamber Approves DF Security Pay-Raise Measure for Senate Review

Overview

• The Chamber of Deputies, which voted Thursday, approved MP 1,326/2025 and sent it to the Senate.
• Provisional measures take effect right away, and this one already paid raises in two parts in December 2025 and January 2026 but still needs final approval to become law.
• The plan grants tiered increases to DF military police and firefighters of 19.6% to 28.4%, lifts PCDF pay by 27.27% for the top tier and 24.43% for the third tier, and gives a 24.32% raise to forces from the former federal territories of Amapá, Roraima, and Rondônia.
• The government offsets costs by eliminating 344 vacant doctor and sociologist positions and estimates a budget impact of R$203.1 million in 2025 and about R$3 billion in 2026 and 2027, with the housing allowance change adding R$25.7 million.
• The text also tightens entry and service rules by requiring a law degree for new officers, adjusting height and age criteria, and placing ex-territory personnel into federal cadres that are being phased out.
