Overview
- The Agriculture Ministry put the outlay at about ₹894 crore for the 2025–26 rabi harvest.
- Procurement will be executed under the PM-AASHA Price Support Scheme, which is administratively capped at up to 25% of national production.
- Crop-wise targets are 29,860 tonnes of gram, 37,020 tonnes of black gram, 55,285 tonnes of groundnut, and 3,690 tonnes of sunflower seed.
- NAFED and NCCF will procure from pre-registered farmers meeting Fair Average Quality norms, cutting out middlemen.
- The Centre said it will absorb procurement costs and any losses, and the Agriculture Minister stated the move aims to ensure remunerative prices and encourage pulses and oilseeds output.
