Central Railway Opens Bookings for Mumbai–Sawantwadi Maha Shivratri Special Trains

The added services are intended to ease heavy Konkan travel during the festival period.

Overview

  • Special trains will run on February 14, 19 and 21 as Train No. 01129 from Mumbai CSMT at 00:20 hrs to Sawantwadi Road at 12:30 hrs, with the return Train No. 01130 departing Sawantwadi Road at 17:20 hrs and reaching CSMT at 04:05 hrs the next day.
  • Bookings opened on February 10 at PRS counters and through the IRCTC website and mobile app.
  • The services will halt at key stations including Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Pen, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Sindhudurg and Kudal, among other notified Konkan stops.
  • Each train will run with 22 coaches comprising one AC 2‑tier, five AC 3‑tier, ten Sleeper Class, four General Second Class and two SLR coaches.
  • Central Railway also announced additional special services on Maharashtra routes, including reserved LTT–Madgaon trains and an unreserved PanvelRatnagiri MEMU, to further accommodate seasonal demand.
