Central Railway Deploys Special Ticket-Checking Team on Harbour Line AC Locals After Strong Start

The move follows 6.40 lakh riders with Rs 2.38 crore revenue in the first 16 days of service.

  • Fourteen AC services on the Harbour Line were reinstated on January 26 on the CSMT–Panvel corridor, within Central Railway’s 94 AC local services.

  • Ticket revenue reached Rs 2.38 crore in 16 days, with Rs 1.79 crore from season tickets and Rs 59 lakh from journey tickets.
  • Central Railway has deployed a dedicated travelling ticket examiner team on all 14 Harbour Line AC services after detecting 810 irregular-travel cases and collecting Rs 2.50 lakh in penalties.
  • Across AC locals on the Main and Harbour lines in FY2025–26 to February 10, ticket-checking squads logged 1.01 lakh improper-ticket cases and recovered Rs 3.22 crore, while commuters are seeking more Harbour Line AC runs due to peak-hour crowding.
