Central Railway Announces 54 Special Trains for Ashadhi Wari Pilgrims

Railways says the plan will ease travel for lakhs of Warkaris through a mix of reserved and unreserved services with defined booking channels.

Overview

  • The Solapur Division, which announced the 54 special trips on June 25–26, published full timetables, coach compositions and planned stoppages for services running mostly between July 21 and July 29.
  • The program pairs reserved long‑distance specials with unreserved trains to link Pandharpur to Nagpur, New Amravati, Khamgaon, Bhusaval, Latur, Kolhapur, Pune, Miraj and other junctions.
  • Highlighted services include four trips each on routes such as Nagpur–Miraj, New Amravati–Pandharpur, KhamgaonPandharpur and BhusavalPandharpur, plus eight unreserved LaturPandharpur trips and daily unreserved runs on KolhapurKurduvadi and Pune–Miraj during the window.
  • Passengers can book reserved seats through computerised reservation centres and the IRCTC website while unreserved tickets will be issued at station counters and via the RailOne app, and travellers are urged to verify timings on NTES before travel.
  • The extra services aim to reduce crowding and improve access for devotees traveling to Ashadhi Ekadashi on July 25, a pilgrimage that draws lakhs of Warkaris to Pandharpur each year and often creates acute short‑term demand on Maharashtra's rail network.
