Centennial Secondary Locked Down Again After New Threat in Coquitlam

Police believe the phone threats are linked across the Tri-Cities, with tips requested under RCMP file 2026-2903.

Overview

  • The school district placed Centennial Secondary under a precautionary lockdown Friday after a called-in threat, with nearby GOAL and Vanier also locked down.
  • It is not yet known whether Friday’s lockdown is connected to earlier incidents that police have said are related.
  • On Thursday, RCMP requested hold-and-secure procedures at Centennial and Gleneagle secondary schools and maintained a visible presence at both sites.
  • On Wednesday, eight schools in Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam and an elementary school in Port Moody were put on hold-and-secure after phone threats, which were later deemed not credible.
  • Investigators say the threats were made by phone and appear connected, and they ask anyone with information to call 604-945-1550 and quote file 2026-2903.
