CCTV Shows Youth Dragged Between Train and Platform at Bhopal Station

Police say the video points to negligence.

Overview

  • A youth was caught between the Bhopal–Indore Express and Platform 6 at Bhopal Junction on March 31 at about 11:31 pm as the departing train moved at roughly 40 km/h.
  • Railway Protection Force personnel and station staff pulled him out within seconds, and a 108 ambulance took him to Hamidia Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
  • A roughly 14-second CCTV clip shows him colliding with a coach gate, spinning along the platform edge, and slipping into the gap before going under the train.
  • GRP Superintendent Rahul Lodha says a preliminary review found no sign of foul play and points to negligence while trying to board or get off the moving train.
  • The man has not been identified because he carried no ID and his phone was destroyed, and GRP has asked Bihar police for help after eyewitnesses suggested he may be from the state.
