CCTV Released as Police Renew Appeal Over Unexplained Death in Cornwall

Detectives say recovered belongings or public dashcam footage could supply location data or contact records needed to trace his final movements.

Overview

  • Detectives released new CCTV images on July 1, 2026, showing 50-year-old Lee Hockey at a Tesco Express in Truro on 22 June 2025 as part of a one-year anniversary appeal.
  • Hockey’s body was found in woodland between Truro and Probus on 1 July 2025 and his death is being treated as unexplained with murder not ruled out.
  • Officers say the last confirmed sighting was in the Trispen area on 23 June 2025 and that his movements after that evening are unknown but he was likely on foot.
  • Police are seeking a black satchel-style bag, Lee’s passport, a Barclays bank card in his name and a pink iPhone 13 and have set up a Major Incident Public Portal for dashcam, doorbell or CCTV uploads.
  • The family thanked the public for support and asked for information to help bring closure as investigators continue searches of local woods and ponds and try to reconstruct a focused window of Lee’s final movements.
