Overview
- Vijay appeared at the CBI headquarters in New Delhi on January 12 and was questioned for roughly six to seven hours before leaving around 6:15 pm.
- He sought a later date citing Pongal after the agency initially asked him to return the next day, and the CBI has now called him on January 19.
- Investigators questioned him on permissions, crowd-management measures, security planning, and his delayed arrival at the rally.
- The CBI also examined former Tamil Nadu ADG (law and order) S. Davidson Devasirvatham and has taken over 200 witness statements, including a forensic review of Vijay’s campaign vehicle.
- The probe was transferred to the CBI by the Supreme Court and is being monitored by a three-member committee led by former judge Ajay Rastogi.
