CBI Serves High Court Notice to K. Kavitha Ahead of March 16 Delhi Excise Case Hearing

The review follows a stay on the trial court’s critical remarks against the probe team.

Overview

  • K. Kavitha was personally served a Delhi High Court notice by CBI officials in Hyderabad informing her of the March 16 hearing on the agency’s petition.
  • The notice states she may argue against the CBI petition on the hearing date and warns the matter can proceed ex parte if she does not appear.
  • CBI teams also served notices to businessmen Arun Ramachandra Pillai, Abhishek Boinpally, Sharat Reddy and former MP Magunta Srinivas Reddy.
  • Earlier this week, the Delhi High Court issued notices to all 23 people discharged in the case, including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia.
  • The High Court has stayed the trial court’s adverse observations against the CBI and its investigating officer and has directed deferral of connected PMLA proceedings.
