Overview
- Anil Ambani was questioned for about seven hours on March 20 after over eight hours on March 19 at the CBI headquarters in New Delhi.
- The FIR, lodged on August 21, 2025 on a complaint by State Bank of India, alleges a wrongful loss of Rs 2,929.05 crore within a wider consortium exposure of Rs 19,694.33 crore to Reliance Communications.
- Investigators are examining alleged diversion and misutilisation of loan funds through interlinked and circuitous transactions among Reliance Group entities during 2013–17.
- The investigation has widened with additional CBI cases based on complaints from Bank of Baroda on February 25, 2026 and Punjab National Bank on March 5, 2026.
- The CBI earlier searched RCom offices and Ambani’s Mumbai residence under court warrants in August 2025, and Ambani denies the allegations and says he is cooperating.
