Capitals Recall Mitch Gibson With Charlie Lindgren Day-to-Day

Washington recalled goalie Mitch Gibson from the Hershey Bears on Tuesday for the road game in Toronto.
Head coach Spencer Carbery said Wednesday that Charlie Lindgren has an upper-body injury and is day-to-day.
With Lindgren unavailable, Gibson will dress as Logan Thompson’s backup against the Maple Leafs on Wednesday.
Gibson has not appeared in an NHL game, and he has a 9-8-3 record with a 2.79 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage for Hershey this season.
He began the year in the ECHL, then signed a two-year, two-way NHL deal in February and cleared waivers, keeping him ready for call-ups.
