Capcom to Remove Paid Character Edit Vouchers From Monster Hunter Wilds

Delisting on December 3 will include temporary free vouchers and a 2027 update will make unlimited appearance edits free for every player.

Overview

  • Capcom announced in mid-September that it will stop selling Character and Palico Edit Vouchers and will delist them from digital storefronts on December 3, 2026.
  • On December 3 every player will be granted 10 Character Edit Vouchers and 10 Palico Edit Vouchers to use while the company implements its permanent change.
  • The permanent change will arrive with the Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance Version 2 update in 2027, after which all players will be able to re-edit hunter and Palico appearances unlimited times without vouchers or extra charge.
  • Players who previously bought voucher packs will not receive refunds but can claim a Special Thank-You Pendant Set beginning December 3 as compensation for past purchases.
  • The move responds to sustained player backlash over a paid customization paywall and comes alongside other product actions, including quality-of-life updates and a Switch 2 port that likely influenced the December timing.
