Capcom Sets Final Free Monster Hunter Wilds Update for Feb. 18 as Expansion Reveal Targets Summer

Capcom is ending major free updates to refocus development on a paid, Iceborne-scale expansion slated for a summer reveal.

  • Version 1.041 arrives on February 18 as the last major free patch, adding Arch-tempered Arkveld, 10★ Arch-tempered hunts, permanent event quests, and a 10★ hunt-a-thon challenge.
  • The first-anniversary celebration runs February 18 to March 19 with a special login pack, weekly event quests, and rotating Festival of Accord seasons.
  • A Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection collaboration grants Palico gear and Monstie-themed pendants, while the fan-voted Great Sword and pendant designs become available.
  • Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto confirmed a large-scale paid expansion comparable to Iceborne and Sunbreak, with its first reveal planned for this summer.
  • The February update also delivers further CPU/GPU optimizations on PC and consoles, while reports of a possible Switch 2 port stem from datamined files and are unconfirmed.
