Capcom Reveals Dragon’s Dogma II: Dark Arisen and Begins Major Fixes Before October Launch

The expansion brings a new frozen region and dungeons while staged free updates are reshaping fast travel, saves, pawn behavior, and performance ahead of release.

Overview

  • Capcom announced Dragon’s Dogma II: Dark Arisen during Tuesday’s Nintendo Direct and set an October 9, 2026 release for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2 and PC, with the Switch 2 edition bundling the base game and expansion and other platforms receiving the expansion as paid DLC.
  • Dark Arisen adds the northern, snow‑bound Norgan region, a Relic appraisal system that turns looted relics into powerful gear and skills, 12 new dungeon challenges, and new character and pawn cosmetics such as hairstyles and tattoos.
  • To make the base game more accessible before the expansion, Capcom published the first of two promised free Title Updates in early June that adds an Eternal Ferrystone for unlimited fast travel plus additional Portcrystals and many quality‑of‑life and pawn fixes.
  • A larger second Title Update is scheduled for August to deliver key changes players have long requested, including multiple save slots, framerate and performance improvements across platforms, Dragonsplague adjustments, and broader pawn and UI refinements.
  • Capcom says the expansion and update roadmap were developed in response to player feedback about restrictive fast travel, single saves, pawn pathing, world hazards and performance, and the publisher is positioning Dark Arisen to broaden access for returning and new players.
