Capcom Reveals Boost Bracer That Reworks All 14 Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance

Trailers and a State of Play reveal show a Boost gauge that temporarily supercharges weapons and could change the series’ combat rhythm.

Overview

  • Capcom began releasing daily weapon-by-weapon videos starting in early September to demonstrate the Boost Bracer and its Boosted Actions for every one of Wilds’ 14 weapon types.
  • The Boost Bracer uses weapon-specific Boost Driver attacks to fill a Boost gauge and, when activated, grants a limited Boosted state that adds new combos, enhanced moves and defensive effects to each weapon.
  • Capcom’s September 3 State of Play trailer expanded the reveal by showing the Skybound Eyrie region, a storyline time skip with older returning characters, and new and returning monsters including the bird wyvern Araketa and the Elder Dragon Gundoraja.
  • Players and outlets widely compared Boost’s temporary powered-up feel to Devil May Cry’s Exceed-style mechanics, with fans praising the flashy mobility while some warn the system could simplify fights or upset Monster Hunter’s deliberate tempo.
  • Ascendance remains scheduled for a 2027 release window on PS5, Xbox Series and PC with a Switch 2 version in development, and Capcom confirmed a playable demo will be available at Tokyo Game Show later this month while an exact launch date is not yet announced.
