Capcom Removes Dragon's Dogma 2 Deluxe Edition and Several Microtransactions

The publisher says the pullback is to ready the game for free system updates and the paid Dark Arisen expansion in October.

Overview

  • Capcom announced it will stop selling the Dragon's Dogma 2 Deluxe Edition and a defined list of paid convenience items on June 24/25, 2026 as part of a preparation plan for forthcoming updates.
  • Items being removed include the New Journey Pack, Portcrystal warp markers, Wakestones for revive, the Art of Metamorphosis character editor, and Rift Crystal currency bundles among others.
  • Capcom confirmed any removed content will remain usable for players who already bought it and that two packs—the Explorer's Camping Kit and the Music & Sound Collection—will stay on sale.
  • A free June update has begun rolling out with the Eternal Ferrystone (infinite fast travel) and travel and pawn fixes, and a larger August patch will add multiple save slots, performance and balance changes ahead of Dark Arisen.
  • The move follows player criticism at the 2024 launch over convenience microtransactions and comes with a permanent discount to the base game, a repositioning that could broaden access for returning and new players before the October 9, 2026 expansion release.
