Capcom Releases Monster Hunter Wilds Prologue Demo on Switch 2
The free demo gives Switch 2 owners a hands-on look at the game’s opening chapters and local co-op before the December launch.
Overview
- The Prologue demo is now live on the Switch 2 eShop as a free download and requires about 12.8GB of free space to install.
- The demo supports local multiplayer but does not include online play, and any save data created in the demo will transfer into the full game.
- Digital pre-orders for Monster Hunter Wilds opened with the demo release, and the full Switch 2 version remains scheduled for December 4, 2026.
- Capcom has confirmed post-launch plans including the 2027 expansion Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, full cross-platform play for the shipped title, a Game‑Key Card physical release, and a Japan Switch 2 bundle.
- The demo lets players test Switch 2 performance and local co-op before buying, but it cannot be used to evaluate online multiplayer or cross-play until the full game ships.
