Capcom Readies Major Fixes Before October Dark Arisen DLC as Fans Praise and Push Back

June’s patch added the Eternal Ferrystone for unlimited fast travel plus quality-of-life fixes, with an August overhaul covering save systems, vocation balance, Dragonsplague changes ahead of the paid October Dark Arisen expansion.

Overview

  • Capcom deployed a June title update that added the Eternal Ferrystone, an item that grants unlimited fast travel and new Portcrystals, and delivered multiple tutorial, notification, pawn behavior, and bug fixes that players have largely welcomed.
  • The studio plans a larger August update to change saving behavior by increasing save slots and preventing automatic deletion, to improve performance and to apply broad vocation balance updates including raising assignable weapon skills from four to six.
  • Dark Arisen, announced for October 2026, is a paid expansion that adds the icy Norgan region with new enemies, quests, dungeons and pawn content and will introduce a craftable Dragonsbaulk Draught to cure Dragonsplague.
  • Some players praise the roadmap for reducing tedium and clarifying systems while a vocal group warns that cumulative fixes—easier travel, save safety and Dragonsplague mitigation—risk diluting the series’ signature challenge.
  • Capcom is also removing many time‑saving microtransactions and discontinuing the deluxe edition ahead of the expansion to align the store with the incoming updates and the October Dark Arisen launch.
