Capcom Pulls Deluxe Edition and Major Microtransactions From Dragon's Dogma 2

Capcom says the removals respond to player feedback ahead of free system updates, a permanent base-game discount, the Dark Arisen expansion.

Overview

  • Capcom announced it will remove the Deluxe Edition and a set of microtransactions from sale on digital stores effective June 24–25, 2026, and said items already bought will remain usable.
  • The company published a specific list of removed content that includes Portcrystal fast-travel markers, Wakestones that revive characters, the Art of Metamorphosis character editor and Rift Crystal currency packs.
  • A June quality-of-life update is already live and reintroduced the Eternal Ferrystone infinite fast-travel item while trimming travel punishments, lowering shop costs for Ferrystones and adjusting Pawn behavior.
  • Capcom plans a larger August update to add more save slots, prevent automatic save deletions, deliver performance and framerate fixes, and provide a Dragonsplague cure item before Dark Arisen ships.
  • Players and critics are split: many welcome the MTX removals and QoL fixes as course corrections, while others worry the changes reduce the original challenge; Capcom will also apply a permanent discount to the base game and is packaging the expansion for an October release under Capcom’s announced date.
