Capcom Launches Dark Arisen Expansion for Dragon’s Dogma 2

It delivers a near-standalone northern region with new dungeon and loot systems plus technical updates that add Hard Mode and PS5 Pro upscaling.

Overview

  • The Dark Arisen expansion went live in early October 2026 with staggered region times that saw the DLC available in the US on Oct. 8 and rolling out to other territories on Oct. 9.
  • The pack adds a large new snowy region called Norgan, a second-Arisen-focused story thread featuring the character Eir and an undying Fallen Dragon, and new main-quest content that reviewers say can be played largely as its own campaign.
  • Capcom introduced new gameplay systems for the expansion including 12 Lost Rites dungeon challenges, a spoils or relic appraisal loop that requires visiting a village NPC to identify loot, and the Eternal Ferrystone fast-travel feature carrying over from Update 3.1.
  • Title Update 4.0 launched alongside Dark Arisen to add a long-requested Hard Mode and a carryover save option for veterans, and a separate PS5 Pro patch adds Enhanced PSSR machine-learning upscaling for PlayStation Pro owners.
  • Early reviews are strongly positive, praising scope, design and platform performance especially on Switch 2 and PS5 Pro, and the DLC is roughly a 25GB download with no PC preload reported at time of launch.
