Capcom Confirms Hard Mode for Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen

Developers say the post-launch mode will target max‑level players and the Q&A revealed major new regions, dungeons, enemies, and systems.

Overview

  • Developers Kento Kinoshita and Naoto Oyama posted an official Steam Q&A on July 31 that laid out the expansion’s scope and answered player questions.
  • The Dark Arisen expansion adds the Norgan region plus two named content arcs, Lost Rites and Forsaken Dominion, with recommended entry levels of 20 and 40 respectively.
  • Capcom confirmed more than 25 hours of new content, twelve original dungeons, icy Norgan variants and wholly new enemy types built on new skeletons.
  • New systems include a Relic Appraisal mechanic and an increase in weapon skill sets from four to six, while a Hard Mode for endgame players will arrive after launch with no release window yet given.
  • The expansion keeps its October 9, 2026 release date for PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch 2, and developers say some balance adjustments will let new and returning players access the content though details on level scaling remain unclear.
