Capcom Announces Dragon's Dogma II: Dark Arisen Expansion for October

Capcom says the expansion, backed by a two‑phase free update roadmap, will fix fast travel, save and performance issues to make the game easier to access before the new content arrives.

Overview

  • Capcom revealed Dragon's Dogma II: Dark Arisen during Nintendo Direct on Tuesday, June 9, and set the expansion's release date for October 9, 2026.
  • The paid expansion adds a frozen northern region called Norgan, a Relic appraisal system that turns found relics into powerful gear and skills, 12 new dungeon trials, and new hairstyles and tattoos for players and Pawns.
  • Nintendo Switch 2 will ship a bundled Dark Arisen edition that includes the base game and expansion, while PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC owners can buy the expansion as separate paid DLC, and Capcom has outlined pre-order bonuses such as a Northern Attire set.
  • Capcom began rolling out free Title Update 3.1 on June 10 with quality‑of‑life changes including an Eternal Ferrystone and more Portcrystals, and says a larger TU3.2 is planned for August to add performance improvements and multiple save slots.
  • Capcom says Dark Arisen and the patch roadmap were shaped by player feedback to address specific complaints — scarce fast travel, a single save file, Pawn behaviour and technical performance — changes that should make it quicker for returning and new players to reach the expansion content.
