Canucks Activate Boeser, Rossi and Buium for Jets Return as Chytil Hits IR

Vancouver will use the restart to gauge roles for its recent trade additions.

Overview

  • Head coach Adam Foote said Brock Boeser, Marco Rossi and Zeev Buium are in the lineup against the Winnipeg Jets after being activated from injured reserve.
  • Filip Chytil was placed on injured reserve retroactive to February 18 with a facial fracture sustained in practice, giving the club roster flexibility during his recovery.
  • Goaltender Jiří Patera was assigned to AHL Abbotsford after serving as depth while Kevin Lankinen was at the Olympics.
  • Boeser was hurt January 25 on an elbow by Pittsburgh’s Bryan Rust, who received a three-game suspension, and Boeser missed five games before resuming full practice.
  • Rossi had logged eight games before a December 30 shot-block injury, and Buium returns from a fractured cheekbone with six points in 20 games and prior top-four usage in Vancouver.
