- Local authorities published full candidate slates April 12–14, including Croydon with 210 names for 70 seats and Sefton with 310 for 66.
- Voters must register by 11:59pm on Monday, April 20, apply for postal votes by 5pm on Tuesday, April 21, and bring photo ID to vote in person.
- Reform UK is fielding far more candidates, such as in 25 of Croydon’s 28 wards, while the Greens and Reform are on every ballot in Harrow and contest every Pendle ward up this year.
- Many councils are holding all-out contests where every seat is up, including Westminster, Bromley, Brent, Harrow, and Croydon, with Croydon’s executive mayoralty also on the ballot.
- Sefton’s all-out vote will elect three councillors per ward with staggered terms that run to 2030 for first place, 2028 for second, and 2027 for third, shaping the council for years.
