Canada Awards CC-330 Husky Support to L3Harris MAS in $1.1 Billion Deal as Airbus Secures OEM Role

The package strengthens fleet readiness by localizing long-term support in Canada.

Overview

  • Canada awarded a support package for the Royal Canadian Air Force’s CC-330 Husky fleet, with two contracts to L3Harris MAS worth about C$1.1 billion and a separate OEM support contract to Airbus under the Strategic Tanker Transport Capability program.
  • L3Harris MAS will deliver a 10-year maintenance contract and a seven-year materiel contract with options that could extend total support to 20 years.
  • Work will center at MAS’s Mirabel, Quebec site to manage nine aircraft and provide heavy maintenance, parts supply, engineering support, and regulatory compliance.
  • The government expects about 720 jobs across Quebec, Ontario, and Alberta and roughly C$90 million in annual GDP impact, with MAS adding more than 60 roles at Edmonton International Airport and 8 Wing Trenton.
  • L3Harris says it will reinvest the full contract value in Canada with at least 15% directed to small and mid-sized firms, while the RCAF targets higher availability for Arctic sovereignty tasks, search and rescue, and allied refueling and transport missions.
