Overview

  • Ottawa approved Enbridge’s Sunrise expansion on Friday with 47 binding conditions after a regulator panel endorsed it in late January.
  • The C$4 billion project adds about 139 kilometres of looped pipe plus new compression to lift the T‑South system by up to 300 million cubic feet a day.
  • Enbridge plans to begin construction in July 2026 with service targeted for late 2028.
