Campbell Hatton told BBC Radio Manchester that the outpouring since his father's death has been overwhelming and that the Evening4Ricky celebration is planned at Manchester’s AO Arena on June 7.
He said the family have struggled to grieve in private but feel lifted by strangers who stop to offer kind words.
Thousands lined the funeral procession from Hyde to Manchester Cathedral in October 2025, and the journey took about three hours.
An inquest in March 2026 recorded a provisional cause of death as hanging, and the coroner said she could not be sure Ricky Hatton intended to take his own life.
The Evening4Ricky event will raise money for the Ricky Hatton Foundation, launched a month after his death to fund talking therapies and community programs that reduce mental health stigma.
