Young closed out The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass with a decisive 375-yard drive on 18 and a nerveless short putt after a birdie on 17.
He outdueled Matt Fitzpatrick and Ludvig Aberg down the stretch to claim the title in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
The victory marks Young’s second PGA Tour win, a breakthrough that follows a run of seven runner-up finishes in a 30-month span.
Since hiring former Wake Forest teammate Kyle Sterbinsky, Young has gained +0.74 strokes per round on the greens over 10 months and gained 1.33 strokes putting at Sawgrass after ranking 145th in putting in 2024.
Looking ahead, Young said his goal is to be prepared to play late on Sunday at Augusta National next month.
