Overview
- Sparks coach Lynne Roberts confirmed Wednesday that Cameron Brink will play after an eight-game absence but will be on a minutes restriction for the road game at Minnesota.
- Brink missed time after a left ankle sprain suffered on June 15 and has not played since then, so the restriction is a precaution to manage her recovery.
- Before the injury Brink was averaging a career-best 9.2 points in 17.5 minutes and ranked among the WNBA leaders in blocks at about 1.5 per game, making rim protection her chief expected contribution.
- All-Star guard Kelsey Plum remains out with a lower-leg injury and the Sparks are under pressure following the firing of GM Raegan Pebley and a 10-12 start to the season.
- Minnesota will be without Napheesa Collier and Emma Cechova for the matchup, which gives the Sparks a chance to test Brink’s immediate impact while the club decides how quickly to increase her minutes.
