Cambridge Launches India Research Hub, Adds CBSE Entry Route, Creates India Fundraising Arm

Overview

• Vice-Chancellor Deborah Prentice announced the Cambridge-India Centre for Advanced Studies as a multi-sited hub for innovation, research and learning during a senior delegation visit to Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
• CAS will operate as an umbrella across India, featuring integrated pillars for advanced research, a knowledge–policy–innovation hub, and a learning hub to drive mobility and scholarships.
• Cambridge will accept CBSE Class XII for some undergraduate courses with additional requirements where appropriate, widening application pathways for top Indian students.
• An India-registered Section 8 entity, the Cambridge India Research Foundation, has been set up to enable domestic philanthropy for bursaries, fees and India-focused research partnerships, with scholarship funding a key aim.
• Early rollout includes technical assistance for a P E Analytics real estate education programme, a Cambridge men’s cricket tour in March 2026, and a UK–India partners event planned at Lord’s in May.
