Overview
- A Sacramento Regional Human Trafficking Task Force operation on July 15 led to 13 arrests targeting people who sought to buy commercial sex.
- Twelve suspects were cited for solicitation and one was booked on charges of solicitation and resisting arrest, with officials withholding names and exact locations.
- Task force officers located and recovered a juvenile who had been reported missing to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and connected the youth to trauma‑informed services.
- The multi-agency SRHTTF used surveillance and undercover officers and included state, local, and federal partners such as the DOJ, Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office, Sacramento Police, FBI, HSI, and CDCR.
- Cases from the operation have been referred to the Sacramento County District Attorney for possible prosecution and add to DOJ task forces’ statewide totals of 1,109 arrests and support offered to 1,164 victims since 2021.
