Overview
- Chicago announced Monday it signed the 26-year-old defenseman to a standard AHL contract for the rest of the 2025–26 season.
- Because the agreement is AHL-only, Foote cannot be recalled to the NHL; the Wolves are the Carolina Hurricanes’ affiliate but AHL deals are with the AHL club itself.
- Foote becomes the fourth of the five players acquitted in July to secure contracts since reinstatement, joining Carter Hart (signed with the Vegas Golden Knights) as Alex Formenton plays in Switzerland and Michael McLeod plays in Russia, with Dillon Dube still unsigned.
- The NHL and NHLPA cleared the group to sign contracts starting in mid-October and to appear in games as of Dec. 1; Vegas recalled Hart from a conditioning stint on Sunday.
- Foote last played in Slovakia in 2024–25 with HK 32 Liptovsky Mikulas (3 goals, 27 assists) and previously appeared in the NHL for the Lightning, Predators and Devils.
