Cal Fire Firefighter-Paramedic Arrested on Multiple Sexual Assault Charges

Detectives are seeking more victims in an ongoing task force case.

  • David Renteria, 51, an on-duty Cal Fire firefighter-paramedic from Placentia, was arrested Friday on suspicion of multiple sexual assaults.
  • Deputies served a search warrant in the 1000 block of Magnolia Avenue in Placentia and took Renteria into custody without incident.
  • Renteria was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of rape by force or fear, sexual penetration by force, assault with a deadly weapon, and false imprisonment.
  • Detectives say at least two women reported assaults and they are asking anyone with information to contact Investigator Joe Riddle at the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Cal Fire says Renteria has been on administrative time off since Jan. 4 and the department is cooperating with the sheriff’s investigation.
