Overview
- The 101.5 km upgrade of NH-927 will be access-controlled with continuous service roads and 48.28 km of bypasses to decongest towns.
- The project will be executed on Hybrid Annuity Mode with a total outlay of ₹6,969.04 crore, including ₹3,485.49 crore for civil works and ₹1,574.85 crore for land acquisition.
- Designed to correct sharp curves and geometric deficiencies, the corridor is projected to cut Barabanki–Bahraich travel time from about three hours to about one hour and improve safety.
- Aligned with PM GatiShakti, the route links three economic nodes, two social nodes and 12 logistics nodes, strengthens access to the Rupaidiha Land Port, and includes a planned six-lane Ghaghra river bridge.
- Government estimates indicate 36.54 lakh person-days of direct employment and 43.04 lakh person-days of indirect work, alongside improved connectivity to Shravasti Airport and key railheads.
