Overview
- The extension will add three elevated stations on the North–South corridor.
- Official projections estimate about 23,702 daily riders by 2029, rising to roughly 58,059 by 2041.
- Construction is expected to create around 1,000 jobs, with about 250 roles for operations and maintenance after opening.
- Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation, a 50:50 joint venture of the Centre and Gujarat government, is the implementing agency.
- The current network spans 68.28 km with 53 stations and carries about 1.6 lakh daily passengers, with the new spur aimed at serving companies, campuses and commercial centers along the route.
