Overview

  • The last operational C-2A flew from Naval Station Norfolk and landed at NAS Pensacola on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, finishing a Blue Angels‑escorted formation and receiving a ceremonial water salute.
  • Cmdr. Paul Ingram led the final flight, handed the aircraft’s logbooks to National Naval Aviation Museum officials, and the airframe was formally transferred for rehabilitation and public exhibition in 2027.
  • Fleet Logistics Support Squadron VRC-40, the Rawhides and the Navy’s final C-2 unit, held a sundown ceremony that marked the squadron’s close of C-2A operations and its planned disestablishment.
