BYD to Raise India EV Prices 1–2% From July 1

Customers can lock current prices by booking in May or June with delivery by July 31.

Overview

  • BYD India, which announced the change Wednesday, will lift prices by 1–2% across the Atto 3, eMAX 7, Seal and Sealion 7 starting July 1.
  • Bookings made in May or June will retain today’s rates if delivery happens by July 31, while orders from July will reflect the revised list.
  • BYD attributed the move to foreign exchange swings that have raised costs for imported components as the rupee weakens against major currencies including the yuan.
  • Industry estimates suggest the increase adds about Rs 50,000 to roughly Rs 1.1 lakh depending on the model and variant, with higher trims seeing the biggest change.
  • This marks BYD’s third India price hike in 2026, according to CarWale, underscoring how a premium, largely imported lineup stays sensitive to currency moves even as the brand grows to 48 dealerships in 40 cities.
