- On Thursday BYD showed a temporary 1,500 kW Flash Charger in Germany as it begins initial European deployments of a planned network of about 3,000 Flash stations.
- BYD says the Flash system can deliver short power peaks up to 1,500 kW and claims compatible vehicles can charge from 10% to 70% in roughly five minutes under ideal conditions.
- The firm is targeting a European Flash‑charging price below 50 pence per kWh as it rolls out sites that use on‑site energy storage to avoid overloading local grids.
- BYD has paused the planned Manisa, Turkey plant, made Hungary its top priority for local car production, and is actively seeking a second EU site preferably by taking over an existing southern‑European factory.
