Overview
- The club confirmed on Wednesday that Aiden Markram has returned to South Africa for personal reasons and will miss the remainder of The Hundred 2026.
- Jos Buttler has been appointed captain for the rest of the tournament and will lead a side that has relied on him for strong starts with the bat this season.
- Buttler has scored 226 runs in five matches at an average of 112.00, form the Super Giants will now look to convert into team wins.
- New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell has been signed as Markram’s replacement but is not expected to be available for the immediate next fixture.
- Manchester sit sixth after five games with two wins, the shift in leadership and Bracewell’s delayed availability create short-term selection questions that will affect their chance of reaching the knockouts and the workloads of current players.
