Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Closes Early at 8:00 p.m. After Severe Weather Forecasts

The park cited forecasts of severe heat and thunderstorms and directed affected visitors to file Weather-or-Not Assurance claims for return admission.

Overview

  • Busch Gardens Tampa Bay closed two hours early, ending operations at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday because meteorologists forecasted severe heat and thunderstorms for the Tampa area.
  • The park announced the change on its official Instagram story and United Parks & Resorts updated the park’s online calendar to reflect the adjusted closing time.
  • Guests whose visits were cut short can use the Weather-or-Not Assurance program to request return admission when weather forces an early closure, attractions are closed more than 60 minutes, or the heat index reaches 110°F, and claims must be submitted after the visit is complete.
  • Operations are expected to resume normal 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. hours on Wednesday and the park’s Summer Nights and scheduled Fourth of July Wild Skies drone and fireworks shows remain planned for the holiday weekend.
  • Beginning July 6 the park will switch to reduced weekday hours of 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, a change that could affect visitors planning trips in the second week of July.
