Overview
- The Cultural Corps of Korean Buddhism announced on Friday May 22 that eight temples in Busan and nearby South Gyeongsang will offer free or budget temple-stay spaces around BTS’s June 12–13 concerts.
- Participating sites include Beomeo, Naewonjeong, Hongbeop and Seonam in Busan plus Seongju, Daegwang, Tongdo and Pyochung in Changwon, Yangsan and Miryang.
- Temples plan to provide overnight quarters, some meals and guided cultural or Buddhist-practice programs while requiring visitors to follow fixed check-in times and communal living rules.
- Reservations are being handled through Visit Busan for some Busan temples and the Cultural Corps’ reservation site for others, with pages going live over the weekend and some applications briefly opening and closing.
- The initiative answers fan complaints about sharply higher hotel rates ahead of the concerts and draws on a long-standing Korean temple-stay tradition that combines low-cost lodging with cultural exchange.
