Burlesque the Musical Postpones West End Return to 2027 and Delays UK Tour

Producers say final technical preparations have forced a delay so the show can open in London at the scale the creative team intends.

Overview

  • Producers confirmed Thursday that the planned September 2026 West End run will be moved to 2027 and described the change as a postponement, not a cancellation.
  • The UK tour will now launch at Sunderland Empire from August 6 to 22, and the original opening at Woking has been rescheduled for November 3–7, with later dates unchanged for now.
  • Reports from crew and venue sources say set trailers had not arrived at the Woking venue and that missing set deliveries prevented a scheduled fit-up and pushed back technical work.
  • Show producers and partners say the tour is fully financed and ticket holders will be contacted by their point of sale or The Arts at Marble Arch about exchanges or full refunds.
  • The production, overseen by writer Steven Antin and backed by producers including Christina Aguilera, previously played Manchester and Glasgow in 2024 and is planning a wider UK run and a future London return in 2027.
