Bungie Recaps Marathon Server Slam, Flags UI, PC Performance, and Duo Queue Requests

Bungie says it will prioritize community-raised fixes after the weekend stress test.

Overview

  • Participation was strong on PC with a Steam peak near 144,000–150,000 concurrent players during the cross-play stress test.
  • Bungie’s feedback recap highlights priorities under review, including clearer UI and menus, a dedicated duos matchmaking option, runner density and time-to-kill tuning, med/ammo economy, movement and heat, and an option to clear keybinds.
  • The studio is investigating PC issues reported by players such as high CPU use, low GPU utilization, FPS ceilings around 80–100, and frame hitches, and it requested specs and clips via support channels.
  • Several fixes went live during the test, including a resolution for in-run voice chat, a Steam update for mouse input lag, higher lobby counts on Perimeter to raise encounter rates, and a server-side fix for names being incorrectly censored.
  • The full release remains set for March 5, with Bungie emphasizing continued iteration post-launch based on data and community feedback.
