Bulega Completes Balaton Treble, Extends Record WorldSBK Streak

The Ducati rider now holds an 82-point championship lead.

Overview

  • Bulega completed the sweep on Sunday with a lights-to-flag Race 2 win, stretching his consecutive victory run to 16 and making it 12 wins from 12 this season.
  • The Superpole Race was red-flagged on lap one after Andrea Locatelli fell in traffic and collected Miguel Oliveira, who was taken to hospital with a concussion and a left shoulder injury.
  • Stewards handed Locatelli a double long-lap penalty for causing the crash, and the restarted eight-lap sprint went to Bulega ahead of Iker Lecuona in an all-Ducati podium.
  • Race 2 ran without the unfit Oliveira and saw attrition as Alex Lowes crashed and Axel Bassani retired, while Bulega beat Lecuona by 2.557 seconds with Yari Montella third and Lorenzo Baldassarri fourth.
  • Sam Lowes said first‑start contact damaged his bike’s quickshifter and hurt his Superpole pace, but he salvaged sixth in Race 2 as Ducati machinery again filled most top spots.
